I just discovered something else I don't like. Uninformed Rednecks With Opinions.

I just saw on the news that Toyota will field a car this year, a Camary. A couple of rednecks said that Nascar is American and should only have American cars.

OK, Ford is fielding the Fusion, 100% made in Mexico while the Toyota Camary is made 100% in America, in Kentucy by Americans

    Which car is more American?

NASCAR --> Non Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks.

Now if you are a redneck and feel offended, get over it.

    Funny

The Nascar machine has turned what used to be an enjoyable sport into a money grubbing pile of crap.

I have been a race fan for as long or longer than most on here have been alive. Kills me. I went to the inaugural Ontario race in the early 70's which was closed down to build a mall or some such. Then, I went to the inaugural California 500 race in Fontana, which was built 10 miles from the old Ontario track. Go figure. They gave California 2 dates, and can't sell out one. But, they want the yuppies in the sport, which I think is a crock. They will take what is a "hot" today, and throw it in the trash like they toss all the rest of their stuff they don't want anymore.

Wife and I had garage passes for the 2000 Daytona 500. That was the most eye opening sick thing I have ever witnessed. Everyone there was so concerned about NOT looking like a race fan, we had to laugh. Security around the drivers on raceday, ol Bil France Jr. sucking on "The Donald's" ass so he would build Nascar a track in NY somewhere, and corporate "shirts" walking around like they were king crap.

Give me back the Rednecks, and the sport the way it was. This PC dog-crap, no cussing on the two way radio's because "little Johnnie" may be listening, and be offended, and no one allowed to voice their opinion, or it will cost 10 grand, and people like Theresa Earnhardt not letting Dale Jr. have his name, because "Earnhardt" is copyrighted, wears me out.

BTW, an MG ran a race, and I think a Jaguar ran a Nascar race as well. Now, putting one of those Lucas wired pieces of crap on any track with any car is the thing that nightmares are made of.

If watching a Nascar race makes me a Redneck, so be it. Deal with it. :)

And just think, drag racers can only drive for 7 to 10 seconds in a straight line, then they have to rest.

drag racing is great for people like me with short attention spans haha. Plus i love to sit in the stands and bet my buddies which lane will win every time the cars roll up.

I also do like to watch Nascar if its a bunch of people hanging out watching it. I wouldnt watch it alone.. I would get bored.. again the short attention span thing. Its a social sport!
