What amp would power these puppies nicely. I dont want to spend over $300 on an amp.
The subs come with ported kicker box and am thinking of putting them at 2 ohms. I was looking at the Phoenix Gold RSd1200.1 and HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi1208D. Any of these good or would you suggest something else?
I dont want to break the bank nor do i want one that would shut off on me from over heating over 20 mins or so of playin loud music...any suggestions? thanks

I have had experience with the hifonics brutus 1208 and i loved it. I had it powering 2 crossfire bmf 15s and it sounded good.

Well the amp only puts out like 800 watts at 2 ohms so each speaker would only get about 400watts each

Yea im talking about the brutus also. It says 900 watts at 2 ohms but i dont think it puts out quite 900.

in that case i should move up a notch to HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi1608D? says 1200x1 @ 2ohm. which amp would you recommend for the (2) Kicker comp vr 12" in kicker ported box @ 2ohm?

Whats the rms of the kicker cvr 12s?

800w rms...1600w max so i think 1000w rms is good enough?

since you'll run them at 2ohms, i would go with the HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi1608D. HIfonics are good amps but their a little over rated so they don't put out what they claim.

If you're going to buy the HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi1608D just keep the gain down, you don't want to blow the CVR's.

thanks! or is there another amp you recommend for these speakers? i already had a Fosgate 851s which always shut off and blew out fuses.

Hifonics amps are good. Just a little underpowered but should be good for your subs.
