autostart troubleshooting

    First I would like to apologize for posting twice so close together but before I could try your LED fix my autostarter started acting up.I have a compustar 2WSHR remote starter installed in my 1990 Chevy Suburban,the lock/unlock works fine but when it try`s to start my truck it flashes 3 times then once after a few second delay which in the troubleshooting guide it says 1 flash is "engine on" any idea where I could start to diagnose the problem?
