Next Enclosure Design

When im done with my current box ill polly sell it,

So while I have my friend help sand the body filler im gonna
work on my next setup

Took some measurements of the inside of the back of my truck
and put them in my 3d program while at work and came up with this?

any thoughts?

the 4 12inch sections will be ported, and theres plenty of room in the back still to adjust the length of each section and the length of the ports so that it can be tuned how ever the speakers need, i think ill cut out the empty section on the bottom/middle so that all the wires can get to the amp

Thanks,

I think i might go with some subs that are better in sealed boxes to save room, the box would only need to be 13" deep alowing me to make something cool in the back to show the amps and what ever else

In the last design, there ended up not being enough room for the woofers magnet on the top set of 12"s because the port pushed it towards the wall too much, and i cant make the box go all the way to the wall because then i would not be able to get the whole thing in there after i built it

wow that does look awesome, but i would not miss match the sub sizes. so the middle subs can go.

the same thing with your first box. the little sub didnt need to be added in with the 12's, but my god dod it turn out super nice.

i would maybe add mids back there to fill the middle openings.... in both boxes.

I know the smaller subs wont make much differece, and I know for a
fact (from playing it) that the 8" in my current box isnt even noticiable
but Ive always had my priorites going = Looks, SPL, SQL, haha

And building neat looking setups is like a hobby for me, and to get the look
I want i sometimes have to sacrifice functionallity,

But for this one im going to make the specs for the box a perfect as i can,
might as well if im going to be going to all this work anyways right?

Here is a set of pictures of the 3rd design of the box

I decided to seperate the outside boxes from the middle ones.
The only thing connecting them will be some thick braces in between (not modeled yet)
The little angled section of the front baffle (in the pictures)
And the carpeted front piece that will fill in the edges and make it look nice (not re-modeled yet)

If i kept that area where the gap is now, as part of the box,
the volume of the box would be wayy to large for these speakers,
and i couldnt make the box any shalower or the sub would not fit

Heres the volume caclulation for each chamber
the first numbers are graph coordinates used to get the area of the polygon
shaped face of each box, then times the depth of the boxes (which is uniform
even though its angled)

all measurement are from the inside of the box of coarse

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TOP 12" BOX

x - y
0 - 0
0 - 14
11 - 14
13 - 3

= 151.5 (area) X 10 inches = 1515 cubic inches = .876 cubic feet (needs .88)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOTTOM 12" BOX

x - y
0 - 0
0 - 11
13 - 14
14 - 0

= 169.5 (area) x 9 inches = 1525 cubic inches = .882 cubic feet (needs .88)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10" BOX

x - y
1.5 - 0
0 - 11
13 - 11
11.5 - 0

= 123.75 (area) x 9 inches = 1113.75cubic inches = .644 cubic feet (needs .66)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8" BOX

x - y
1 - 0
0 - 8.5
10 - 8.5
9 - 0

= 76.5 (area) x 8 inches = 612cubic inches = .354 cubic feet (needs .33)

K sooooooo, i changed the whole thing at the last second

and now its gonna be just 4 Kicker Solo Classic 15"s and 1 Kicker ZX2500.1 Amp mounted in between the speakers since its 27" long geeze

i got a model of the new design, butt ill just show you the progress

Theres one side so far drawing out the 2nd half, its 3 am so i dont think ill be able to do any cuttin till the mornin

each box is the exact size recomended by kicker 1.25 cubic feet each box, 16 X 16 X 11.75 in, and then angled. not ported. I should have tons of room in the back still for regular stuff even with this in it.
