Need help to blow my friend out please.

Hello, all i have been readin the boards for a week now trying to decided what to buy. Let me give you a small story on what I am looking for, before i say what I am buying.

I have a Alpine deck, Polk audion 4 by 6 mid/high dask speakers on a alpine V12 F300 4 channel amp. My friend just went and purchased two 12 inch sony Xplod subs and a 1200watt Sony Xplod amp and is now talking about how I am blown out by it. Well sure I am I have no subs. So i decided to by some other stuff and this is what I am getting. A Hifonics ZXi 1008 amp and two 12 inch Cerwin Vega V-max subs.

Now i was wondering would this be better sounding and louder that my friends? Also do i need two 2 ohm or two 4 ohm subs to wire them so that the amp is 2ohm load? Thank you for all your help.
