My next purchase
Been looking for a non concealed carry sidearm for a while now. This unit seems to fit the bill, 40 calibre, high capaciy clip, SA/DA trigger....and the price is right.
I like the way the gun feels in my hand and the way i fires. The accuracy is awesome and it one of the better mid range priced guns out there....(I dont like glocks feel, thoguh they are a geat gun, that was my other choice)
http://www.taurususa.com/products/pr...ategory=Pistol
I carry a gun most everywhere, but the current gun I carry is a S&W 30 airweight, and my ol lady wants it back!!!! So this oughta take its place just fine. Open carry is legal in my state (MO) and i do practice my right to carry at all times!!!

Well then maybe where I live is different. I don't have to worry about stuff like this. Most I have to worry about is tornadoes and thunderstorms.

Well at least your NOT looking at small bore weapons. The only reason for a small bore weapon that I can think of, is that you cannot shoot straight and you need the additional ammo. (Then you shouldn't own a gun anyway).
So because your looking at a Large Bore weapons, I'm gonna assume that you can shoot straight.
But lets go a little bigger. I own four Colt 45's, Great weapons.
The Combat Commander has an 8+1 capacity and with a 4-1/4-inch barrel is the shortest of my 45's. The Double Eagle is also an 8+1 but with the traditional 5-inch barrel. The Double Eagle is my only Double Action Colt ACP
The next 2 are traditional Colts. The M1911A1 and the Gold Cup. Both have a 7 round capacity with the traditional 5-inch barrel.
Test fire a Combat Commander. You'll fall in Love.

I will try out the colts one day. They are good weapons. I dont own any or know anyone who has one at this time however....the 1911 design is an awesome and time tested gun,,,well worth owning....
The reason i like this Taurus is due to the size, accuracy and feel of the gun.
I dont need 50 rounds in a clip to hit a target. I am rather well educated in the use of a side arm. i practice quick draws in various positions and techniques every week with a few different handguns.....Those of which are too large to comfortably carry on my side at all times. Those are both 44's
I am fairly accurate in a quick draw situation....30 feet, 6-9 inch grouping when drwn from the holster and shot at hip level....that wil put a Bad guy down everytime
I always aim for center mass, then head shots secondary in my trials.
The taurus has a nice size that is easily carried wherever I go, without interfiorening in a seating position whether in a car or restaruant chair. the reliability is also paramont...it works...at least from everyone i have talked too.....
I have looked at less expensive weapons. They may do well most of the time, but i want a gun that WORKS wheni need it. My life or someone elses may depend on it.
I do want to make one thing clear here though...I AINT lookin to shoot anyone....That is NOT my goal. I want to have the means to prevent harm to me or others if the situation dictates it. I would rather just "show " my gun and have the situation diffused as opposed to drawing down on a person.....It woulsd be hard dealing with the taking of a life...but i would do it in a second if needed....
