Possible Down Time

I am going to have my Hosting account restructured so that CAT is the primary domain

This will result in having the username for MYSQL changed, so depending on if I am home with my Hosting ISP makes the changes will depend on if the site goes down and for how long


so if you come and get a weird Error message, Check back, it will be corrected as soon as I get the message from my ISP

WOT is CAF's downfall, IMO.

Maybe it's a lack of moderation (something that's good in a small forum like this, but...), I don't know...
...but it seems that there are two types of people on CAF:
1) ones interested in car audio
2) ones interested in junior-high cafeteria banter

WOT areas can be fun places to have some occaisional BS in a forum that is dominated by car audio guys...
...but it sucks to have a WOT section that simply attracts more junior high cafeteria kiddies, because it'll inevitably overflow into the 'real' parts of the forum... or people will get into a WOT "mode" and not break out of it in the 'real' parts of the forum...

...which, if moderated, wouldn't really be a problem. But there's no janitors to do any cleanup.

As they say - you promote that which you condone... and I'll add - actively or passively.

However it is not the MODS fault, they lack backing from the sites owner...

forinstance, you ,seth, etc have the power to delete move and edit topics

but you have no power to bann or really punish people that abuse the site..

if.when things like that happen, I get involved and handle it..

However on CAF, that person is well None exsistant... so the most they can do it delete the topic which will result in 15 new topics complaining about the topic that was deleted

so it ends up being a terribe cycle until the kiddies get bored.....

Another problem is that the members keep "bumping" the bad topics with post that only read

"WOT"
"bann"
"delete"

**** like that, so all that does it keep that topic at the top of the page.......

Very true.

Not only is that person non-existant - but look at who is listed as moderators, in each forum... and what they do.
In large part, those people aren't around much (if at all), and even when they are - actions aren't taken.

Don't confuse this with me on this forum - I try to stay as hands-off as possible - but here, we honstly don't have much trouble.

We don't have much trouble here, which is 1 of the reason I come here so often. You can actually post a serious question, or reply, and not get the usual, stfu/gtfo/die/spam/loser/shootyourself attitude like you do over there in wot. You see bentwrench in wot all the time arguing with the kids and never does anything about it, somedays I think he's just as bad as them. He should be trying to stop the bull****, not antagonise it. I think Lee might have gotten shot in iraq or something, cuz I haven't seen him on in ages. The only mod I really ever see on there in the general section is Kurt. And you guys are right, non of them ever seem to give a **** about what goes on. What's the point in being a mod?

Michael like you said in your previous post, for instance, geo and Seth have the power to move or delete topics as they see fit, and if it needs to be done, they do it. Over there they can do the same ****, but in the last few months I can't think hardly any that have been moved or deleted.

If somebody was to come in here and start chanting, (no disrespect to anyone) GTFO NI**ER, I'm pretty damn sure, Seth and geo would jump all over there ****, until Michael came along, you get my drift, there would be consequences for it. Over there, you could have a complete communist gathering talking about how the owner is a complete pos and needs to die, and nobody cares.
