what size capacitor do i need for a solo x 10 with a Hifonics BXI2610D 2600w amp?

    hey people im new to the whole forum thing but im tryin to figure out what size cap i need for my system, cuz when the bass hits the lights dim alot! i was thinking a 5 frad capacitor but i wasent sure so i thought id check if my assumption was right and if so what brand and what not! anyway thanks and hope u can help me!

    get an extra battery instead.

    I would get a new battery for the stereo only you will see a huge difference . Have you done the big 3 upgrade ?

    you dont need another battery u need a bigger alternator or dual alternators. but if your looking for a cheap fix a good yellow top battery will do the job aka deep cycle. there made to be drained reapedely with no side effects.

    dual alts for a 3k system? how long have you been into car audio?

    i've known competitors with 7+ batteries and 7K + watts running on stock alternators. for an everyday system, an extra battery will be sufficient.

    i have 3 batteries on a 105 amp stock GM alt. with roughly 1700 rms watts rated power. rarely do i crank it loud enough to use all that power.

    anyways IF it was a competition system i would suggest more batts AND a high output alt to recharge the batts for the next round to keep the power up, but not for an everyday system.

    this is all moot since the OP never came back to repost.
