I was wondering if this setup might cause cancelations with identical boxes on each side.

http://www.nissanforums.com/showthread.php...=&threadid=9047

I thinks its a nice clean setup.

but it would be worse if they were like this

Run a "loading panel" right up the center of the trunk to reduce cancellation. Or, run one for either side like geo did, using some thick plexi. here is the link... http://www.geocities.com/geolemon/install-...first-civic.jpg

Is that 3/4 plexi? How much does plexi that thick cost?

Where can I find some more info on loading panels?

I took a look at that site, and I found some .708" thick plexi with 9600psi tensile strength. I saw some thinner stuff with 10,000psi of tensile strength. Is that what it takes to bend the plexi ro break it in half?

I dont want this loading panel flexing right?
Does it muffle the sound making it boomy?
How far away should I put the loading panel?
How does it handle spl applications? SQ?

Thats all I can think of atm

No, you don't want flex

Not at all. In fact, it allows the rebounding wave to blend well with the subwoofer wave, almost like acoustic coupleing.

No formula really, I suggest starting with 2 inches and play with it.

Due to the design you have in mind, you will benefit greatly in both SQ and SPL. As I mentioned, it acts like acoustic coupleing, making it louder. Also, it will work to reduce and hopefully completely eliminate both cancelling and standing waves, improving the SQ dramaticly.

I used a loader for my brahma to get metered and noticed a couple DB gain. It also had little bearing on SQ. However, my design was differant from your chosen design. I feel it will be beneficial to you in both SQ and SPL.

Cool! I want to build at least one box this weekend. I should be able to get MDF at any lumber yard or home depot right?
