I've been out of this for awhile, Tsunami is Dying, need to replace...

I have a Tsunami 1100DB which is pretty much on its last leg...

I hate that amplifier. I bought it a few years ago, and it was DOA...even worse, it had ALREADY been previously returned and Refurbished when I got it...it was obvious that it had been worked on AT LEAST once before.

Regardless, I had gotten it über-cheap, and the guys at Avionixx were Awesome and repaired it for me...

But...it's dying again. It powers on intermittenly, enters protect mode randomly, etc. All the same problems I've had before.

Anywho, So I hate it and now I want to replace it. (The crossover was installed improperly, and so it's ALWAYS reads about 45 degrees off, so I also HATE that).

I've been out of the whole Car Audio scene for a few years now...
I WAS going to replace it with a Hifonics Brutus 1000D or a 1500D, but it appears those are no longer made hahahah

So, I am considering the Hifonics BXi1206D and the Cadence TXA-1000 (refurbished). I'd like to spend as close to $200 as I can...and the Cadence fits the bill PERFECT @ $199 + Free shipping...

Now, from what I remember, the Brutus series WAS really swank. Are the new ones still great?
And IIRC, Cadence is VERY top-notch (albeit HIDEOUS). Is this still true also?

They will be powering a mkII Brahma 12" in ~1cu. ft. Sealed box. 1 ohm.
So, to hit full excursion, IIRC, I need about 900w. So, I figure a good 1000w would be great.
Are there any other 1000w@1ohm steals out there these days?

Man, It's been so long, the Brahma isn't even made anymore
I feel old...

That's an interesting Suggestion.

IIRC, Crunch is like the lower-level branch of Hifonics, or something...
Kind of like Chevrolet --> Cadillac.

And that's a REALLY nice price...

i know a kid with a brutis amp 1600@1 ohm mono.
he's running 2 L5 kicker solo barics.OMG it pounds like crazy!

it will soon join his amp grave yard under his bed though.he likes to abuse the hell out of his subs and amps, but so far this one is holding up rather well.

he's young and does not know better.lol.this will be his 4th amp in 9 months or so.

The only other concern I would have w/ the Crunch is that it's A/B, and not a D...

I'm sure I can live with that, but I try to keep it as efficient as I can w/ my 60amps of fury from my alternator
hahahaha

But, I RARELY ever even use my amps at 1/2 power...
