cadence input

Hey sandt38,

What size wire are you using for inputs on your amps?

2 feet of wire to each. 4Ga to the Z7000 and 8 to the Q3000.

The q3000 accepts 4 awg as well, doesn't it?

I believe so. Are you running a second battery? If not, consider this. The Z7000 has an external fuse. They chose to mount inline rather than in amp. The fuseblock it comes with is 2 Ga in and 4 Ga out. If you are running only 1 battery, and are running long wires, prepare to wire with 2 Ga to each Z.

Here are my plans, tell me what you think.

Running 2 extra batteries.

Running 0 awg from under the hood back to the trunk(batteries). Than split that to 4 awg to the amps.

I was just curious, because it mentioned in the Amp manuals that you should use 2 awg or maybe I misread it.

Thanks.

That is in response to the 2 Ga statement. Look at the block and you will see what I mean.

If you're using an isolator under the hood, I reccomend 2Ga to the rear batteries if you are dead set on 2 extras. I have 1 extra and a 120Amp alt and isolator and I use 4 gauge.
