For subs a mono class d amp would be better....its more efficient too.

Well first what kind of music do you listen to??

Are you looking for good sound quality or loud ass bass.

What vehicle would this be going in?

Well personally I like the kicker solobarics. Most people say they aren't clear and are only for SPL but to me they punch like no other sub i've heard in their price range.

I mean you can get one 12 L7 and have jeff help you out with a box since kicker L7s are his specialty and use the rest for a good amp.

I've heard numerous subs compared to the L7 and I think they are louder in the punch aspect of them and hit every note harder than others and are quicker.

If you're looking for loud bass, use 1 15 in a ported box. that'll light up the trunk of your cutlass, and in most cases cheaper than two 12's
and it'll be plenty loud.. check this out:

and this:

and:http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-ALPINE-SWR-1...QQcmdZViewItem
and these are affordable and very efficient:

Their you go pushing ebay again naughty, naughty....
he is right though, one fifteen in the correct enclosure will give you everything you need. Amazing things can be done with a single driver, I have one customer that pulls a 143.1 (on the new term lab) with a single 12" bravox EDX. That is his sound quality port, when he puts in his SPL port look out!

ha ha.. easier to search on ebay, BUT ABSOLUTELY better to buy from trusted online stores (OR EVEN BETTER: trusted local audio shops! . I just use ebay to give a good idea about what price you can expect to pay.. very helpful when helping a pal with a strict budget.

Glad you all don't have a ruler.... I'd be looking for a knuckle transplant soon!
