ok so i just got this unit and the screen is up. the guy told me he tried to install it and his fuse burnt out so he couldnt put it back in. my friends says that i can just hook the yellow to the positive and black to the negative on my battery and it will power on and i can close it. it has warranty and everything that came w/the unit most of the stuff wasnt even opened he just tried it out and blew a fuse. he also had to sell some parts on his car to pay for something more important.

the screen is open in its viewing position. i need to close it. its going into my brothers car not mine, but he doesnt have it in his possesion right now.my friend told me to hook the yellow wire to my positive side of my battery and the black to the negative. the yellow and black leed to a battery box the black wire is labeled as ground should i ground it or is it ok to hook to the negative. i just need to power it real quick to close the screen.

connect the yellow lead to the positive terminal on the battery, and the black to the negative terminal on the battery, just as your friends said. connecting to the negative of the battery is the same thing as grounding it. you wont hurt anything.
