sandt38, when you get a moment to comment could you give me the short & skinny on this sub? I went to the Adire site and this really caught my attention. Of course, you have to understand that I'm ignorant to most all the specs listed and was hoping you could tell me what the comparision of this sub is with the 10w3 I'm currently using. I've got it in a .75cu/ft sealed downfire box now and was also wondering if the downfire box is an issue for the koda?

I'm not saying that I'm really unhappy with th 10w3, just wanting to know what my options are and if I can do better. I'm willing to give it a try.

One other question for you, does it come in a dual 4ohm voice coil?

Thanks,
Fused

It is a single 4 ohm coil, and unfortunately that is the only configuration. Downfiring should not be an issue.

The Koda should outperform the JL in both SQ and output. 3/4 of a foot may be a bit small, but according to Steven it sounded amazing in 1/2 a foot with 180 watts. I don't have the hands on with the driver that Steven does, so I'll let him answer that.

I can assure you of this, I am getting 1 to play with in my truck, and maybe 1 for my HT as well. I am going to compare it to my Shiva in the HT, and decide if I should build an enclosure for the other shiva I have in the garage (that would be a dual Shiva system), or if I should build a dual Koda, possibly in a bipole (yes bipole, not dipole... The idea intrigues me ) type install..

That was half a cube with 300 watts. But yes, it did sound great that way.

.75 cubic feet should work fine. You will most definitely increase in sound quality with that switch. And depending on the power you have available, you may increase in output.
