Eclipse CD3000

Has anyone heard this head unit? I am really wondering if I should buy it because a shop here locally wants about 250 for it and give me free installation. I don't know if I should go with this or an Alpine or Pioneer Premier. 250 is about the max I can really spend on a head unit. The speakers wont be playing of the headunit either is all going through amps. Here are some links to kinda compare. Most debates are for the 400+ cost headunits and I just dont have that much.

Looks like a nice rig! Most folks on here seem to like the Eclipse HU's....I have no personal expereince with the newer stuff, but i can say the equipment from 10 years ago was very nice for the most part.......

Why not put it in yourself? (it's easier now than it ever was)
everything is color coded, and there are wonderful little adapter harnesses available, and adapter kits (in dash) out the wazoo.
I found the cd8445 from a trusted online retailer for less than 3bills including shipping, and it's an awesome HU.

If you'd rather have someone else do it, then I would definitely recommend eclipse. It is my honest opinion that fujitsu ten is making a wonderful product, and I can't tell you anything about thier customer service, because I haven't ever heard of any problems with them. Thier warranties could suck... I wouldn't know. they might be great..

Have a nice day!

normally I would do it myself but im not a pro at this stuff. Reason I wanted someone to do it for me was because this stock head unit requires a special took to get it out that hooks in these hide holes and the car came with a stock JBL system so it is amped already and im not sure how its going to hook up with the stock amp and such. Rather just have a store here do it so if anything messes up with the install its on them to fix it and not me.

eclipse head units have "smart harnesses" - that means they have plugs that plug into your car.. and then the head unit. really.. there's nothing to mess up.

Its' a 2 min adventure.

oh yeah. and I had a CD5000 and I liked it alot. Even though I have a kenwood now that I like better, it was way more money than the Eclipse.... SO GO GET IT!

the pioneer seems to have more built in options.
like a 7 band eq.but the eclipse has 5 volt outs.the pioneer 4 volt.

can you view any of these locally?go for the one that has what you want or need. like eq's or biult in crossovers and the like.

I was trying to find a pioneer premier dealer in the area but the closest one is a good hour drive there.
