Looking for my first Eclipse HU.

I wanted to get some of your guys opinions on which head unit to get for one of my cars. I will be running it into an Audio Control 3.1 and then to a Orion475 and an orion 250. I have JL surrounds and subs. Im not happy with my clarion and am trading it in. My price range is about $500. Any suggestions? Im looking for great SQ.

Orion 475 and 250, now this guy knows what a REAL amp is all about!!!!!

Lots of good HU's out there, I always liked Clarion myself.

If ya got any queations on those old Orion amps, or just want to give them too me, let me know!!!!! LOL!!! I have dealt with ALL the old orion stuff.....

I have used and liked Clarion for years but Im not happy with this current one. Im definitely going to get an eclipse. Just wanted to know if you guys had a favorite and why.
As far as amps go, I wont run anything but old orions. I have a very nice collection of them. Right now I need a very clean sounding head unit so my surrounds can perform as well as my subs. Im sure its my HU that sucks. I have everything else covered unless somebody has had trouble with JL Audio cables but I doubt it. Actually it sounded much worse before I added the 3.1 but it still isnt as good as it should be.

Nice, what all ol Orions do you have? I curently have just an old 2125 SX (the one with the ORIGINAL logo) and a 275...I have installed literally hundreds, if not thousands of those god like amps....Heck, i could start a whole topic on just them!!!! The newer clarions are not what i am familiar with, The last Clarion i owned was a Pro audio unit form back in around 96 or so.....ended up selling it with a car i think......Anyway, If I was to buy a new HU, i would persaonally get a new Clarion....just like the old brands that always worked for me......Oh!! another HU that i had years ago was panasonic, the dammed thing was bullit proof, bought it back in around 94 or 95, quit just not too long ago,,,,,got water damage on the board, dont ask!!!!!

Swapped out my clarion for an Eclipse CD7000 and OH MY GOD!!! What a nice head unit!!! Very nice and there is no comparison to the Clarion I had. I havent even tuned the system yet but its far better already. Now I just have to figure out how to operate the thing.
