Alpine cva 1003

Gears are starting to fail on the flip out monitor.( you need to help it in sometimes) Can I lubricate the gears? Maybe graphite? Any suggestions appreciated. I know I can send it in but I hear it takes a good while to get it back. I'm just trying to avoid sending it to alpine. Thanks
